About us
Bluewave Cloud Networks is an Australian Cloud Computing solutions provider.
More specifically we provide access to clients’ business software and associated data on their own fully maintained virtual Windows Server – the V-Server.
These virtual servers run on server hardware clusters located in secure data centres and are accessed via the Internet for a fixed monthly fee based on the number of user accounts each client requires.
Background
Bluewave was founded in 2002 as a traditional computer networking company. Our focus on high quality Windows Server and PC products as well as technical support services attracted a healthcare oriented client base that includes Doctors, Optometrists, Audiologists and Podiatrists.
This client base grew nationally and with clients in every state and territory in Australia, Bluewave developed strong remote technical support capabilities delivered via our central helpdesk as well as through our trusted network of technical consultants in state capitals and regional centres across the country.
Cloud computing
When we identified cloud computing as the future of IT service delivery we invested in the development and testing of our own virtual server infrastructure through 2009. The V-Server was launched in early 2010.
While very popular within our existing client base of small/medium health care practitioners the V-Server has proved to have a broader popularity and has attracted new clients to Bluewave from many different industry sectors including recruitment, bookkeeping and retailing.
We have also partnered with software vendors to provide the optimal software experience to their clients through our understanding of their software’s server requirements. This offers their clients assurance that the software will run as expected rather than having to take the risk associated with purchasing and setting up new local server hardware. Our helpdesk now even assists clients in the restoration of functionality to much of the software running on the virtual servers – a one-stop-shop.
What makes the V-Server different
We believe the V-Server is attractive because it offers a complete virtual server platform which allows clients to run as many software products and store as much data on it as they choose. It is not locked down to just a single software as is the case with Software-As-A-Service.
We understand clients use many different software applications to run different aspects of their business - this might include MYOB for accounts, MS Office for word processing and spread-sheets and an industry specific software solution to manage day to day operations and or billing. All this can be done on the one centralised, virtual server – the V-Server.
Along with this high level of functionality we also offer the full range of technical services needed to maintain and develop the overall cloud infrastructure, setup, configure and backup each individual V-Server as well as install and support the business software running on it. We also keep our clients’ local networks securely linked to the V-Server to ensure reliable software and data access. All this for the one simple monthly subscription.
